Regional Grants Manager
As the Regional Grants Manager, Mary Landers is responsible for the development of regional policies, plans, and procedures for the Bay Area UASI program Grant Unit and coordinating the legislative elements of the Management Team’s various grant programs, including the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI), the Securing the Cities (STC) program, the Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program (RCPGP), and the Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention (TVTP) grant program. She also acts the Team’s Compliance Officer and is a liaison between Bay Area jurisdictions and State and Federal grant representatives.
Ms. Landers has 20 years of contractual and legislative experience with the City and County of San Francisco. Prior to joining the UASI Management Team, Mary managed Homeland Security Grant funds for the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management and served as a Legislative Aide to a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. Before her service to the City and County of San Francisco, Ms. Landers had an 18-year career with the American Broadcasting Company (ABC-TV) in the Broadcast Operations Division, receiving an Emmy award for her work on the 1984 Olympic Games.
A graduate of Loyola Marymount University, Mary received her B.A. from the School’s College of Fine and Communication Arts. She holds a certification as a Certified Grants Manager from the National Grants Management Association, and completed Harvard University’s National Preparedness Leadership Initiative certificate program. A San Francisco native, Mary is a retired Irish dancer and makes yummy Irish soda bread for her colleagues every St. Patrick’s Day.
